 | | Piggy Cottage
is set in three acres within the New Forest
National Park with direct access to the Forest.
Situated on a 'no through road' it boasts
probably one of the best locations in the
north west side of the Forest, in the small
hamlet of Mockbeggar which is mentioned in
the Heyward Sumner book. It is a hidden gem
which nestles in a non working farm courtyard
with a thatched Grade II listed farmhouse
which dates back to the 17th Century. |
|
|
If it is walking, cycling, bird-spotting
or just diving into local history, Mockbeggar
is the ideal place for you and it is only a short
journey to the beaches of
Bournemouth, and historic Salisbury with its markets
on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Ringwood, a market town, is only three miles away
and has its own market on a
Wednesday. There are so many places to visit, from
garden centres to historic
houses to museums. A true forest experience. |
|
| You can collect fresh eggs from our
rare breed chickens or stroll through donkeys, horses,
cattle etc. to the local village shop/post office
to catch up with local gossip, or collect a newspaper
and some local produce. A little further along is
a farm shop selling organic meat and other goods. |
